PROPOSAL CLARISSE HAHN (France):
2. video installation. Two works
are presented in a parallel installation : the first one deals
with the body of old people in hospitals, through the relationship between
nurses and hospitalized persons, and the second one deals with the controlled
body in the porn world, through the daily life of a young porn actress. -Op-allah: video work This video is a dialogue created by
the juxtaposition of a fencing fight (images and sound of the fencers and the
audience) and of the black screen with the song of the muezzin she recorded
in her studio in Jerusalem, close to the Arabic part of the city. -The Bower: performance in
collaboration with Alexander Kollek-Green. Balva uses the body of the performer
as a living material she transforms into a sculpture. The performer
is naked and bows in front of the audience. There are here different
levels of control: the control of a person on another body, the transformation
of the human body into a material and the movement itself of the performer. ADINA BAR-ON: -Disposition: performance This performance took place in different
cities, Kibbutz Nachshon (Israel), Hong-Kong, Helsinki, Quimper (France).
In each city, Bar-On checks the symbolic and historic places and defines
the way she will follow. She goes for a journey with a group of people
through the determined itinerary. During this trip, she plays, sings,
talks with the people. She also disappears and reappears, showing the
control she exerts regarding the inscribing of the figure in the landscape.
As a minimal urban signal, she works as a developer of forgotten / repressed
situations on a public level as well as on a private level. -Home of course: performance
This performance was presented for
the first time in Poland, then in Tel Aviv. Bar-On reduces the acting
of performance to the most minimalist ways. Very controlled movements,
expressions of the face and a few words are the basis of the performance.
It may be seen as a series of long frames creating a storytelling that
each viewer may adjust to his own story. She deals with the issues connected
to the concept of home: construction, destruction, otherness, welcoming,
nationalism, war, ownership, frontiers, female aspects, maternity, sex,
violence. AMIR BORENSTEIN & EFFIE WEISS: All my sons: multimedia
and video work The work is a variation about the
destiny of the possible children of a fictitious couple (played by the
artists themselves). The children are created through multimedia way.
They were realized through a computer project that mixed the faces of
the two artists. This fragmented storytelling shows various aspects
of the daily life in Israel: each child opens to a different way of
life and to the conflicts connected to this potential narration. NIRA PEREG: Video works #1 and 2: Pereg deals
with a kind of schizophrenia. The artist is divided into doubles avoiding
each other, running, meeting and sitting together. ZAMIR SHATZ: Shenkin Azza Shenkin: video work Shenkin is the most popular and fashionable
street of Tel Aviv, with bars, restaurants and shops. Azza is the Hebrew-Arabic real name of
Gaza (the stripe and the city). The work of Shatz deals with the travel
of the Arabic workers, coming to Tel Aviv for work. It shows also the
parallel between daily situations in the two cities in all their differences
as well as the impossibility of avoiding the economical - and therefore
social relations between the Palestinian and the Israeli worlds. Optional: ILANA SALAMA-ORTAR: -The memory of the body: this
documentary by Salama-Ortar presents a young Israeli Arab man living
in the North of Israel. He was terribly injured by a mine at the age
of 14, when he was playing near to his home. He lost his right leg,
his right arm and his right eye. He explains how he survived with half
a body. -(Under conditions): new documentary
about the immigration in Israel (Asiatic and black populations in Israel,
a white State). I would like to propose also: -NEBOJSA SERIC SOBA (Bosnia):
video works and installation. After works about the war, Soba deals
now with the exile, the homeless situation, the difficulty
of coming back to Serbia and of being in another country with people
that sometimes dont understand. |
